Lessons, Private and Group Instruction

Concert percussion is one of the most diverse and interesting parts of the musical family. You never know if you will be playing timpani, marimba or a clay pot. If you need coaching for college auditions, are just starting, or are learning and refining your technique I have the equipment and knowledge to help you. With over 35 years of teaching experience, I have helped many students explore and improve their craft and level of musicianship.

I am an active percussionist, performing and teaching regularly throughout New England. My teaching experience includes Drum and Bugle Corps, Marching Bands, Concert Bands, Youth Wind Ensembles, Symphonic Music camps. I created a percussion ensemble with Salem High School that competed in the NESBA, MAC and WGI circuits. I have held positions as Percussion Director with a number of high school groups, and worked with junior high school, high school and college percussion sections, coaching students ages 10-24 on behalf of the ensemble’s director.

With children of my own, I know the patience it takes to teach, and the consistency necessary for students to learn. I tremendously enjoy seeing the light bulb go on; that excitement when the student grasps a new rudiment or concept. Whether the student is a child or an adult, that success is exciting and is why I teach.
